2018

Big changes started happening in our 5th season.  Corey Lougheed stepped down as Director, and turned the administrative duties over to a couple of willing parents.  This freed up his time to commit to his true passion of coaching once more.  Word of our little club was spreading in the area, and we had a lot of interest from some of the younger athletes, as well as our established teams.

Our first-ever 14U Team was coached by Ivy Drews, and Assistant Coaches Sandra Schneider and Bo Stachniak.  Our youngest team had a great season learning about club volleyball.  Premier 1 was played as triple-ball, and the team finished in 15th place in Blue Division.  This result seeded them into Division 4 for Premier 2, and the girls battled for a strong 10th place finish.  That strong finish kept them seeded in Division 4 for Provincials, and the girls had a lot of fun in their first Provincials Tournament, and finished in 15th place.

Our now 16U Team was again coached by Dylan & Keanna.  The team had a strong Premier 1, and came in in 7th place in Blue Division.  Again, Premier 2 saw great results for these girls, and for the second year in a row, they finished in third place in Division 4 with a bronze medal!  Back up to Division 3, but this year they did not falter.  Premier 3 they had some strong wins, and finished in 8th place.  In Provincials, the girls held their own, and despite some injuries on the last day, with only six girls able to play in the semi-final match, the girls battled hard and held onto their 8th place standing in Division 3.

This team was able to get into Nationals, and they had a lot of fun, but were just short a win that would have taken them to a medal match in Tier 5.

Corey was back this season to coach our 18U Team, along with Assistant Coach Rodger Allain.  The final season for some of our original athletes that had played with Riot since they were in 15U, along with some new players as well.  The team started out the season strong, finishing Premier 1 tied for 7th place in Blue Division.  Entering Premier 2 in 1st place in Division 4, the girls suffered some losses, and finished the tournament in 19th place.  Premier 3 they battled back and moved up to 13th place, but a tough cross-over result in Provincials had them finish the season in 17th place.
